Black Friday 2026 in the UK falls on Friday 27 November, with Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Black Friday weekend spans those four days, but plenty of UK retailers don't wait that long, and several sales are already live. Below are the key dates, the retailers that have started (with sources), what to look out for in each category, and how to tell a real discount from a marketing one.

Fashion: FLANNELS' Black Friday page says its sale is "coming soon". Its current code FF20 gives 20% off selected lines until 23:59 on 2 November 2026, with brand exclusions (FLANNELS terms). See our FLANNELS Black Friday 2026 guide.

Not yet announced (as of 30 October): Amazon, John Lewis, Selfridges, Harrods, Asos, Nike, Adidas, Apple and most fashion and luxury retailers. Some trackers publish predicted dates, but those are forecasts; we'll only list a retailer here once it confirms.

Black Friday price guarantees

Currys: buy a marked Black Friday deal between 28 October and 24 November; if the Currys price drops by 1 December you can claim the difference. You need to register your purchase by 27 November.
Argos: items marked with the Price Guarantee badge will not go lower before 25 December; if they do, Argos gives a voucher for the difference.
AO.com: the extended price-match guarantee covers purchases from 12 October to 11 December, with claims allowed until 23 December.

Black Friday shopping tips by category

TVs, laptops and home appliances

Currys, AO.com and Argos are already live, so the first Black Friday prices are out. If the model you want is at a price you're happy with, a price guarantee means you can buy now without losing out if that retailer cuts the price later. Check the exact model number, as some Black Friday models are variants of standard ranges.

Beauty and fragrance

Boots and Superdrug have started. Gift sets and fragrance tend to be discounted in November, but check other retailers first: the same item may be cheaper, or price-matched, elsewhere.

Fashion and luxury

Most fashion and department-store sales have not been announced yet. It's worth joining newsletters and free membership schemes now, saving your size and address, and noting today's prices so you have something to compare against when the sale starts. Travel

easyJet holidays, Jet2 and MSC Cruises have early offers. Flight and holiday prices move with demand, so compare the total price for your dates, not the headline percentage.

How to spot a genuine Black Friday deal

Check the price history. Which?'s latest Black Friday investigation (published 2025) tracked 175 deals from the 2024 sales for six months either side of Black Friday. All of them were the same price or cheaper at other times of the year, 83% were the same price or cheaper at least once outside the 15 November–12 December sales period, and none was at its year-round low only on Black Friday itself (Which?). Price trackers such as PriceSpy (many retailers) and CamelCamelCamel (Amazon) show whether a "deal" is lower than its usual price.
Compare across retailers. Google Shopping or PriceRunner will tell you if another shop is charging the same or less.
Be wary of "was" prices and RRPs. A discount measured against an old or rarely charged RRP can look larger than it is.
Don't let a countdown rush you. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, falsely claiming an offer is only available for a limited time is illegal. On 14 October 2026 the Competition and Markets Authority fined Wayfair £4.8 million for time-limited offers that did not end when stated (GOV.UK).
Make a list first. A discount is only a saving if you were going to buy the item anyway.

Delivery and returns basics

Online returns: for most goods bought online from a UK business, you can cancel within 14 days of receiving them, including sale items. Exceptions include personalised items, perishables and unsealed hygiene products (Citizens Advice). Many retailers offer longer return windows, so check each one's policy.
In-store purchases: there is no legal right to return an item just because you changed your mind; the shop's own returns policy applies.
Delivery: late November and December are busy for couriers. If you are buying Christmas gifts, check the retailer's delivery estimate and order early.
Buying from overseas sites: if goods worth more than £135 are sent from outside the UK, you may have to pay VAT and Customs Duty before delivery unless the retailer includes them in the price (GOV.UK).
