Breaking: Multiple Stabbed on UK Train in Cambridgeshire

According to the BBC, this evening (7:40 p.m. on November 1), a shocking stabbing incident occurred on a train traveling from Newcastle to London King’s Cross. The train was forced to make an emergency stop at Huntingdon Station in Cambridgeshire (#Huntingdon). After receiving reports, police deployed a large number of armed officers, and two suspects were arrested at the scene. Multiple passengers were injured in the attack and have been taken to hospital.

Based on statements from UK police and eyewitnesses, the incident happened roughly ten minutes after the train left Peterborough. Someone suddenly began attacking with a knife inside the carriage. Terrified passengers pulled the emergency alarm, and chaos ensued. A witness named Gavin told the media he heard someone rush into the carriage shouting, “They have knives, I’ve been stabbed,” covered in blood and trying to get to a safe place. When the train arrived at Huntingdon, the injured were immediately carried to ambulances, and one of the suspects was subdued by armed officers on the platform.

Videos circulating online show police cars and ambulances crowding the station area, with armed officers running between trains in a tense scene. The East of England Ambulance Service said it had dispatched a large-scale response to the incident. Police subsequently sealed off the area around the station and closed the A1307 road leading to the town centre, urging the public to keep away.

London North Eastern Railway (LNER) announced that, due to the incident, services on the East Coast Main Line were suspended, with severe delays expected throughout the night. Many passengers were stranded at stations or on trains, and some services were diverted or cancelled.

At present, police have not released the identities of the suspects or a motive. The case remains under investigation. We wish the injured a speedy recovery, and remind everyone to stay safe when travelling.
